Instructor, Studio Manager
Knox’s teaching career spans over two decades with a wide variety of experiences teaching the very small to the very tall, young and old, beginner to pro. She has her B.F.A in Performance Dance from the Toronto Metropolitan University. Previous certifications include her R.A.D. Vocational (awarded with merit), her FIS and PTS from CanFit Pro, as well as certifications with Kaeja d’Dance in Express Dance and Elevations. She was the artistic director and lead choreographer of High Society Cabaret from 2012-2020.
She is the current artistic director of Mayfly Creative Productions.
Her experience has ranged from teaching in dance studios, community centres, public schools, conventions, intensives, gyms and fitness studios in classes as large as 75 participants! Known for her high energy and enthusiasm, Knox’s classes work to harness a supportive environment for all people to come and participate as they are, in their current state, while gently challenging their potential and growth.
Newfound Lad is a burlesque and drag performer currently based in St. John's, NL/Ktaqmkuk.
He is a member of BoylesuqeTO, Canada's Premiere Boylesque Troupe, and has performed in festivals and cities across North America including the Burlesque Hall of Fame (Las Vegas), where BoylesqueTO won "Most Comedic!".
Lad competed on Season 2 of OutTV's "Call Me Mother!" where he represented Newfoundland and the intersection of Drag and Burlesque!
Rita Antique is a queer burlesque artist, performer, and producer originally from Calgary, who now calls Tkaronto her home.
After completing her BFA in dance, Rita found her love for stripping and has been teasing and teaching all over the country since 2017, being lauded as "some of the inspiring talent flourishing in the Canadian dance community" - David Silverberg, Now Magazine.
Highlights include Toronto and Edmonton Burlesque Festivals, Capital Burlesque Expo in Ottawa, Bagel Burlesque Expo in Montreal, 2020 Virtual Burlesque Hall of Fame, & the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival.
Recently, she and Newfound Lad have produced Moving in Burlesque: A Workshop Series, in St. John's
