TAPPING INTO THE MASCULINE ENERGY FOR BURLESQUE!

This series honours burlesque’s playful sense of humour and sex appeal, centring ways we can bring masculine energy into performance. In six weeks, participants will work with Babia Majora to explore how they can bring their own twist on centring the masc into their burlesque practice. Regardless of gender identity and presentation, burlesque is a performance of the myth of gender. This class will delve into the history of burlesque and draglesque, character and act development, movement, and bringing your masc energy to the stage. Led by Babia Majora

Throughout this workshop, we will discuss how we can, as performers and producers, ensure our acts and shows are not causing more harm than good. Whether you are creating a political number or wanting to be more aware as you get ready to be your sensually silly self on stage, this workshop will serve as the pastie tape on developing impactful numbers.

In this 4 week series we will get playful with the different elements of an engaging floor show. How to move through and interact with an audience with confidence and storytelling. How to think on your feet and move through a crowd, while keeping all eyes on you. The do’s and don’ts of consent, sightlines, humour and demanding attention. Getting confident stealing the hearts of the folks in your audience, led by Lacia Majora
